Product Overview

What is AR Glass?

AR (Anti-Reflective) glass is an engineered optical substrate coated with a multi-layer nanoscale thin-film system designed to suppress Fresnel reflection at the air-glass interface. By imposing a controlled refractive index gradient across multiple dielectric layers, the AR coating produces destructive interference for reflected wavelengths while maintaining high transmittance across the visible spectrum.

The core value of AR glass lies in its ability to eliminate distracting glare and mirror-like reflections. On untreated glass, roughly 8% of visible light bounces off the two surfaces, obscuring screen content in bright environments and causing viewer eye fatigue. Our AR coating brings single-surface reflectance down to less than 0.5% and total visible transmittance above 99%, delivering sharper contrast, truer colors, and a far more comfortable viewing experience.

AR glass is widely used across display panels, touchscreens, optical instruments, automotive displays, medical equipment, outdoor digital signage, EV charging stations, and other applications where readability, durability, and optical precision are critical.

At Jin Zhi Jing (JZJ Glass), we bring over 15 years of specialty glass manufacturing expertise to every AR glass project. We offer double-sided multi-layer AR coating, optional chemical strengthening, AF/AG combined treatments, precision CNC shaping, and silk printing—all in-house. Whether you need a standard-size sample or a fully custom OEM solution with exact dimensional tolerances, our engineering team supports you from prototype through mass production.

Key Features

Why Choose JZJ AR Glass?

Precision-engineered optical performance meets industrial-grade durability. Eight reasons our AR glass is trusted by display, medical, automotive, and industrial OEMs worldwide.

Ultra-High Light Transmission

Achieves Over 99% visible light transmittance, compared to roughly 90% for standard float glass. This maximizes display brightness, reduces backlight power consumption, and delivers crisp, vivid image quality even under direct sunlight.

Ultra-Low Reflection

Reflectance is reduced to ≤0.5% per surface across the 400–700nm visible spectrum, down from ~8% (two surfaces) on untreated glass. Glare and mirror-like reflections are virtually eliminated, dramatically improving viewing comfort.

Double-Sided AR Coating

Double-sided AR coatings deposit multi-layer nanoscale dielectric film systems on both front and rear surfaces, suppressing Fresnel reflection at air-glass interfaces through bidirectional refractive index gradient design for consistent low reflectance and high transmittance at any viewing angle.

Scratch & Abrasion Resistant

With an optional hard coat reaching 7H pencil hardness, our AR glass withstands everyday abrasion from fingers, cleaning cloths, and industrial environments—ideal for touchscreens and public-facing displays.

Custom Thickness Range

Available from an ultra-thin 0.5mm up to a robust 12mm, covering applications from compact wearable displays to large-format industrial windows. Common thicknesses include 0.7, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 and 6.0mm.

Chemical Strengthening Optional

Ion-exchange chemically tempered versions offer 6–8× the impact resistance of annealed glass, meeting the safety requirements of automotive, outdoor, and handheld devices.

Custom Sizes & Shapes

CNC precision cutting produces exact dimensions, including drilled holes, edge cutouts, notches, stepped edges, and complex 2D profiles per customer drawings—up to 1500 × 1000mm.

Anti-Fingerprint Option

An optional AF (oleophobic) coating can be combined with AR for touch displays, delivering a water contact angle ≥110° so fingerprints wipe away easily without compromising optical clarity.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often about AR glass specifications, ordering, and customization.

Regular float glass reflects about 8% of visible light across its two surfaces (roughly 4% per side), while our AR-coated glass reduces reflection to less than 0.5% per surface, increasing light transmission from ~90% to over 99%. The result is dramatically less glare, higher contrast, and far clearer viewing, especially in bright or outdoor environments.
