Product Overview

What is AG Glass?

AG (Anti-Glare) Glass is a specialty glass produced through a precise chemical etching process that creates a micro-scale matte texture on the glass surface. This texture converts specular (mirror-like) reflection into diffuse reflection, fundamentally eliminating glare at its source rather than merely reducing it.

Unlike AR glass which relies on nano-scale optical coatings to reduce reflection through interference, AG physically alters the glass surface morphology — the effect is permanent and will never peel, flake, or degrade over time.

Our AG glass achieves ≥90% light transmittance, and the AG+AR composite option reaches ≥93% for applications demanding both anti-glare and anti-reflection performance. Gloss levels are fully customizable from 60 to 140 GU to match specific viewing conditions.

At Jin Zhi Jing (JZJ Glass), we bring over 15 years of chemical etching expertise to every AG glass project. We support AG+AR+AF triple-composite solutions, optional chemical strengthening, precision CNC shaping, and silk printing — all in-house.

Key Features

Why Choose JZJ AG Glass?

Precision-engineered anti-glare performance meets industrial-grade durability. Eight reasons our AG glass is trusted by display, medical, automotive, and industrial OEMs worldwide.

Matte Anti-Glare Surface

Chemically etched micro-texture creates a permanent matte finish eliminating specular reflection.

Zero Reflection Under Light

Diffuse reflection technology eliminates mirror-like glare in direct sunlight and bright light.

High Transmission ≥90%

Maintains ≥90% visible light transmittance (≥93% with AG+AR combo) preserving display brightness.

Fingerprint Resistant

Micro-etched texture reduces fingerprint and smudge visibility for easier cleaning.

Scratch Resistant ≥7H

Surface hardness ≥7H pencil after chemical strengthening for daily abrasion protection.

Custom Gloss 60-140GU

Gloss units precisely tuned per application from 60GU (outdoor) to 140GU (indoor HD).

AG+AR+AF Combo

Triple combination: anti-glare + anti-reflection ≤0.5% + anti-fingerprint for premium displays.

Precision CNC ±0.05mm

Custom shapes, cutouts, holes, notches and edge profiling per customer drawings.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often about AG glass specifications, ordering, and customization.

AG etches texture to scatter light; AR uses nano-coatings to reduce reflection via interference. Different principles, can combine as AG+AR.
AR/XR Applications

AG+AR Combo Glass for Outdoor AR/XR Devices

According to Omdia's 2026 Near-Eye Display report, global AR display shipments will surge 154% YoY to 4.1 million units in 2026. Outdoor AR glasses require AG anti-glare + AR anti-reflective combo solutions.

Outdoor AR Smart Glasses

Uncoated glass reflects 8%+ ambient light in bright outdoor conditions, creating ghost images. AG+AR combo glass delivers both anti-glare and anti-reflection with ≤0.8% total reflection.

Industrial/Military XR Headsets

Industrial inspection, remote assistance, digital twin field visualization — factory/outdoor/complex lighting environments need AG anti-glare with adjustable haze optical covers.

AR-HUD Head-Up Displays

Automotive AR-HUD augmented reality head-up displays with large FOV virtual projection, multi-layer optical composite glass require AG anti-glare + AR anti-reflection combo solutions.

Micro OLED Protection

Near-eye Micro OLED micro-display module protective covers, high definition, high transmission, low reflection, AG anti-glare + adjustable haze 3%~15%, excellent optical performance.

Ideal Applications

Medical Display Monitors
Anti-glare matte surface reduces eye fatigue for surgical and diagnostic displays (haze 25%±3% optimized)
Industrial Touch Panels
Readable under factory fluorescent lighting, oil-resistant surface withstands workshop environments
ATM & Self-Service Kiosks
Anti-glare surface ensures readability in varied indoor/outdoor lighting, anti-fingerprint option available
E-Paper & E-Reader Screens
Matte surface mimics paper texture, enhances e-ink display contrast and outdoor readability
Educational Whiteboards
Chemical etched AG surface provides consistent anti-glare performance without coating delamination risk

Not Recommended For

Applications Requiring High Clarity
AG glass diffuses light (haze 5-40%); for applications needing crystal-clear view, use AR anti-reflective glass instead
Optical Sensor Windows
Light diffusion from AG etching can interfere with precision optical measurements; use optical-grade clear glass
Touch Panels Needing Zero Texture
For smoothest touch feel, consider AF-coated glass with water contact angle ≥110°
